Ritu Chhabra, Principal of Swami Vivekanand School Gurugram will have never thought that She could be murdered just for performing her duties in this school. Like all days she was just in her cabin and was busy with daily schedule work, then this incident happened.

A Class 12th boy came in her cabin and fired four times on her, two bullets hit on her arms, the third one was found on her chest and fourth-one on her head. The Student was carrying his father’s .32 bore Webley Scott pistol. After firing, He tried to run away from school but could not succeed. Other parents, who were in school for parents -teacher meeting caught him in just outside the school campus.

On examining these two reasons were found by the Police-

  1. The student was not happy with Principal because she warned him on his fight with other students and bad behavior with other teachers.
  2. Ritu Chhabra also taught economics to commerce stream students in the class, and the boy did not get good marks in the pre-board exam, as he had not submitted the practical files on time, he had gone in her cabin to take her permission to submit it but the Principal did not accept his file.

According to Times of India’s report, The body has been sent for post-mortem. The Police has arrested both the boy and his father for the Arms Act and for negligence. His father is a prominent money lender of Yamunanagar Hariyana. Kamal Kamboj told TOI that “Our principal was shot and killed only because she had warned the student.” This is the third case of the major crime being committed in a school in three months.
